About This Quiz

Do you think that robots are a modern invention? Think again! Robots have been on the big screen nearly as long as movies have been around, such as in the 1896 film "L’Ève Future." But it wasn't until the 1920s theatrical play by Karel Capek, "R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots)" that the term "robot" was coined. Since that time, science fiction has jumped on the use of robots and their popularity. From the 1956 "Forbidden Planet" and Robby the Robot to the arguably most iconic duo C3PO and R2D2, robots make us laugh, make us cry and most importantly they bring us into their world.

So, whether you are terrified of "Terminator's" T-800 or feel a heartfelt and warm feeling every time you watch the animated movie "Wall-E" robots and all their lack of emotion can bring some of the strongest emotions to their viewers. Did you spend your Saturday nights laughing at Tom Servo from "Mystery Science Theater 3000?" Or, catching up on rerun TV with The Robot and Robinsons from "Lost in Space?"

Most people think robots are emotionless, but a true lover of the genre knows that Marvin from "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is anything but emotionless, even though he's a little much on the depressed side.

Now it's time to take your love of robots to a new level and see how many of these famous metal inhumans you can name from an image!
